Teikls DashTones - Commercial Terms & Support Policy
Effective date: 30 August 2025 Vendor: Teikls (“we”, “us”) Product: Teikls DashTones - Admin Essentials (the “Plugin”)
Contact: [email protected]
Jurisdiction: England & Wales
1) Scope
These terms govern our commercial services related to the Plugin (sale of downloads, access to updates, and support). They do not replace the software licence covering the Plugin’s source code. The Plugin’s source code is licensed under GPL‑2.0‑or‑later and nothing here restricts your rights under that licence.
2) Software licence & brand assets
- Licence: GNU General Public License v2.0 or later. A copy is included with the distribution and available at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.
- Branding: Our names, logos, and other brand assets (including “Teikls”) are not licensed under the GPL. You may not use them to imply endorsement, origin, or affiliation without our written permission.
3) Delivery, downloads & updates
- After purchase you receive access to download the current release.
- Updates & support term: Purchase grants the purchasing account access to downloads, updates, and email support for 12 months from the purchase date. After that term you may continue using the version you have (GPL licence), but new releases and support require renewal.
- We do not guarantee a particular release cadence, roadmap items, or feature additions.
- Update check: The Plugin performs a periodic HTTP GET (approximately every 12 hours) to our update endpoint to determine the latest version. No personal data is transmitted.
- We may change or retire delivery mechanisms (e.g., download host) provided reasonable alternatives are available.
4) System requirements & compatibility
- Supported baseline at release: WordPress 6.0–6.6; PHP 7.4 / 8.0 / 8.1 / 8.2 on a standard LAMP/LEMP stack.
- Ongoing policy: we support the current WordPress major and the previous two, and currently supported PHP branches, at our discretion.
- The Plugin is admin‑only and does not enqueue front‑end assets.
- We test on clean WordPress installs with default themes and typical core configurations.
- No universal compatibility guarantee: We do not warrant compatibility with all themes, plugins, custom code, hosting stacks, or outdated WordPress/PHP versions.
- Your responsibilities: (a) test in a staging environment before production use; (b) maintain current backups; (c) keep WordPress/PHP/DB within supported versions.
5) Support (scope & response)
- Included: Help with installation, Plugin settings, and bug reports where the Plugin does not operate as documented on a supported baseline.
- Excluded (not included in purchase): Resolving conflicts caused by third‑party themes/plugins or custom code; server/hosting configuration; performance tuning; bespoke features; training. These may be offered under a separate paid engagement at our discretion.
- How to contact: [email protected]
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00–17:00 UK time (excluding UK bank holidays).
- Response target: We aim to reply within 3 UK business days (target, not a guarantee).
- We may request temporary, least‑privilege access to a staging site to investigate issues; you are responsible for granting and revoking such access.
6) Refunds & consumer rights (UK/EU)
- Digital content: By choosing to download immediately, you acknowledge and agree you lose the 14‑day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once the download starts.
- This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the Plugin is faulty or not as described, we will repair/replace within a reasonable time; if that is impossible or fails, we will provide a price reduction or refund as required by law.
- Any goodwill refunds outside your statutory rights are at our discretion.
7) Privacy & security
- The Plugin does not collect or transmit personal data.
- The periodic update check (see §3.4) is a simple version lookup and contains no user data.
- You are responsible for your site’s security, access control, and backups. We do not provide legal, security, or compliance advice.
8) Custom work
Any bespoke changes, integrations, or priority assistance are separate services delivered under a written quotation and agreement, at our discretion.
9) Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Plugin and services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We exclude all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the Plugin will be error‑free or compatible with all configurations.
10) Limitation of liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be limited under English law.
- Subject to 10.1, we are not liable for: (a) loss of profits or revenue; (b) loss of business or goodwill; (c) loss or corruption of data; (d) indirect or consequential loss.
- Subject to 10.1, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Plugin and services (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) is limited to the amount you paid to us for the Plugin in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11) Acceptable use
You must not misuse or attempt to disrupt our update endpoint or delivery systems. You must not use our brand assets to imply endorsement or origin of derivatives.
12) Discontinuation & end‑of‑life (EOL)
- We may discontinue new sales of the Plugin or declare an EOL for particular WordPress/PHP versions or Plugin branches.
- If you have an active 12‑month updates & support term when discontinuation/EOL is announced, we will do one of the following (at our discretion): (a) continue to provide downloads and critical fixes (security/stability) for the remainder of your term on the supported baseline in §4; or (b) offer a pro‑rata refund for the unelapsed portion of your updates & support term.
- Discontinuation/EOL does not affect your GPL rights to the code already in your possession.
- We are not obliged to backport fixes to unsupported WordPress/PHP versions or to lapsed terms.
13) Third‑party software
The Plugin interacts with WordPress core and may interact with third‑party themes/plugins. Those components are licensed and supported by their respective authors. We are not responsible for third‑party software.
14) Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for new releases, legal, or operational reasons. Material changes will apply to future purchases or renewals. The then‑current version will be published on our website or store listing.
15) Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK or EU may benefit from mandatory local consumer protections.
